Dear Mr. Prokhorov,
I was reading your last posting on twitter where you said that building a civil society is a rutine, consistent job and requires lots of time and thought. I agree. You don't need to rush right now or rush at all. Also you mentioned that you read everything on Internet, open letters to you, which greatly range from very enthusiastic to ridiculous etc. I was wondering, how come you don't search your own name? I have this blog addressed to you for more 2 years now. Not only you don't find a way to respond, but no matter what efforts I made to contact you through people who work for you, I didn't get any confirmation that you found out about this blog. Talking of transparency... maybe it should start from your own workplace? Sorry, I'm a little too forward on this, because my efforts have been slighted so far (or so I feel), but as you see I put lots of time in this. And, I really want to help you. Better yet, I want to help you now and here - on Internet. I'm issuing a challenge to you of kickboxing of politics in so called "civil society and democracy." You must agree that USA considered one of the most democratic states in the world. The proof of it is that it sends observers to your country to check things out, not the other way around. Do you know why America have been successful in many technological and social endeavors? I'm sure you do, but I'll say it anyway - because it takes the best what's out there and builds on it. Now China is doing it. Now, why don't you come here - to New York, take your time and talked to me about politics. I'll ask you questions that I don't need answers, you answer to yourself or ask me, if you so wish. Better yet, you can observe and learn from my experiences. See how usual life is working in American society, how American like me can protect her human and civil rights in every day life. I have a decent life; I'm educated, moral (yes, definitely), healthy (just got my complete check-up), never have been in trouble with the law, never used any drugs, I mean - any, I mean - non-whatsoever, even "grass" as you call it in Russian. You can come and help me to protect my rights as an American citizen, in the process you'll see how things work on the ground and learn, build on it and implement it in better ways in Russian society. Then nobody can blame you or find shortcomings in your knowledge. Can this be a deal? If you're over 40 and you're still liberal, we need to talk, seriously.
Best regards.
