Mr. Prokhorov,
No sooner I thought you've gone back taking care of your enormously big and diverse businesses and people who work for you, I saw you on the news today - back to politics.
All I can say now is WOW! Is this, as they say in Russian, matter of "principal" or sheer caprice to show some people they can't stop from doing whatever you want to do, because you're who you are - wealthy, smart, handsome and lucky too?
Maybe everyone around you making sense to you right now and you have romantic vision and goals in mind, but I can't stop myself just recording this for history by telling you that politics is not matter of "romance."
Why do I think you think and/or feel so?
In one of your interviews from your office you said that you're having fun doing business, which you called "kayf' in Russian. After "kayf" is the "party?"
I hope it would have shred of truth to it and would become true for you.
I believe you have good intentions in your own ways, but there is a wise saying in English "path to hell is often paved with good intentions."
Politics, Mr. Prokhorov, is a scary and dirty game of possibilities, lies and power straggle which can ruin not only your, but many other people's lives.
One should be fit emotionally and psychologically in certain ways to do it effectively, especially taking over the superpower like Russia.
What makes you think you can do it? You can rule Russia?
In one of my prior posts I mentioned that there are ways that you can influence and make positive changes by doing things in other ways. I'd wish I could ask questions for you to answer just for yourself.
The first one would be "would you like to control and impose to change or you'd prefer to influence and change"?
I have entire list of possibilities that you could use to influence in a positive way and change as much as you want and still have your personal life free for yourself. Anybody ever gave you such thing?
Somebody in Kremlin, who works for someone else, don't have what you have, maybe jealous, said something that was hurtful to your ego and you want to be his boss to "solve" his problem by firing him? Is this what is this all about? Or letting go of another oligarch is such a life goal for you that you put so much time and effort in it? Eventually one would be let go one day and the other would be out of jail soon and these are miserably small things in life for you to consider, considering that you can have fun life and no worries, if you'd just take it easy. Forces which encourage you to do professional politics are subconsciously or purposely are putting you in a sensitive position, which can have a side effect of putting your life on line. Is this is a good thing and for who?
Have you give it a thought?
Did anyone told you that there is totally another world out there that you explore, learn from and enjoy too?
Saying in public that you'll commit to someone for life, which called marriage, which is a contract for life, because your "country or post of presidency demands it" sounds not genuine, moreover it sounds artificial.
You had a better idea before. I heard myself you saying you should retire and merry, because you believe in doing things well. Marriage and family require maintenance, Mr. Prokhorov, core purpose of it is spend time together, share life with each other and raise offsprings.
Presidency is a 24/7 job, there is no time for family. How you're going to switch from 15 hour work day to 24 hour day under heavy security, control, exposure of daily private life surrounded with danger? Anyone would merry you while you're a president would have "family first" in her mind? How?
Being a amen and a father, raising happy, functional, respectful and appreciative to your efforts children is the utmost investment and full-time hard work you can get for yourself. It takes THE MAN to do it. It takes THE MAN to care and make a woman happy, especially a good one who has standards, values and morality and can say "NO" to you.
A woos can become a president accidentally. History showed that many times. You read history, you read books, you've seen it all. It's often NOT a macho-man business.
After all, why do you think that life is forever - I have no clue.
Good luck anyways.
Best regards.

From New York With Love (part 24)
Mr. Prokhorov,
World is changing fast around us and before you know it, your ideas of change maybe obsolete.
If you can afford the time, why wouldn't you come to America, see how things work in here, try to change, see how it works, learn from it, then go and implement it in Russia in better ways?
There is a saying; smart people learn from their mistakes and smarter people learn from other people's mistakes.
My next idea of good impact to society is to encourage people who are doing good, so that can motivate others to do good and better. One of America's social policy failures is to confuse good with right. Not every good thing is the right thing to do. It should stand the trial with long line of questioning, such as to whom, how much, where, how long, how and why? Under which circumstances it can be done? To help someone is a good thing, but start asking why and how.
The road to hell can be paved with good intentions.
For example; someone who has a child and can't afford to care for him/her and a very good thing to help. Fine. Ones you made it a political reality, more women will have kids out of wedlock, throw their men or husbands away, simply because government is paying the bills. But, unfortunately government is not there to be her husband or father the kid.
Men are rejected very easily, don't have a woman to value them, he is thrown out, angry on society and life, blaming everything and everybody around, thus finding excuse for himself to act irresponsibly to do anything. Most likely getting in trouble, some ending up in prisons, etc. Look what happened to America's welfare system. It grew and grew and grew, took over inter-cities and major metropolitan areas. Especially minority families started deteriorating, because of the believe that society owe them and they should be taking care of for free. Fine. Many of them generation later are living in the same areas, doing the same thing; having babies in younger age without support of the men.
Don't know in Russia, but teenage pregnancy in America considers a social crisis.
Moral side of it is the saddest part; kids don't have 2 parents, extended families, psychologically in my opinion impacted by that, grow angry and most likely not succeed.
Racism and other cliche's thrive and become initially a business, conducted by manipulators of society. Media, which gets paid and feeds on bad news making money, excalating it.
Help those who work and are educated, alone and decent. I said - decent. I know it becomes a weird word, becuase liberals are wierdos and they basically contral most od the media.
Could you guess by watching American TV that only 20% of Americans are liberal? You might think the entire country is "fascinated" by Hollywood. Not so. Most Americans are conservative or almost conservative such as myself, believe in Good and love their country.
Suggestion; help those who help themselves or can do so in the future. Open a special foundation for people who are single, who work, educated and talented and need to succeed. Tell them you'll help them, so they can afford to have a family and care for it. Those people are the ones who help others automatically by teaching them, hiring them, paying taxes for them, being out of trouble and worry about the good future. It can be done and will change the course of society from deterioration from within.
Just sharing thoughts with you.
Best regards.

From New York With Love (part 23)
Mr. Prokhorov,
Couple of days ago you announced that you'd return to politics when conditions in society will ripe. Good choice. Don't know what you mean by "ripe," but I'll take anything which keeps you away from type of politics you wanted to get involved in.
You can change the world with your possibilities. To get involved in small political party and call cheap shots was a waste of time and money as you know now.
In last posting I promised to give you suggestions that will bring good changes to Russian society. Here we go.
Statistics show that Russian society is not multiplying enough to replace itself, much less to grow. In other words child birth is very low. Who is going to enjoy changes you wanted to bring, if no one is going to be there? Mr. Putin talked about it years ago and said that government started monetarily encourage people who were having kids.
I saw on TV Russian people saying that they can't afford to have kids because there are not enough daycares or they can't afford them.
Here is one suggestion; why don't you put a goal, announce, follow up, show and proof the nation that people who work for you in any level will have more kids than an average in entire country? Start with very heavy laborers who work 6 days and their housing and food included in their compensation. For example at the gold mining town, where they live and work, which looks like a pretty isolated area.
Build the best, the biggest and most advanced child care facilities in those areas. Pay top $ for their good food, live music (yes, even soviet times daycares had piano players), toys, books, etc. Then go and look into school system around those areas where your factories are, talk to people in charge and start hands-on approach improving those. If possible, build your own private facilities for your employees' kids education and entertainment. Put all these on TV openly and consistently and report the growth of happy humanity around you and under your watch. Be an example and ask your fellow rich men to do the same. Talk to men and women directly, personally, encourage them, go to their wedding parties, tell them you've got their becks. Send them good sanatoriums and double paid vocations. Open collage funds for kids of those working for you for certain amount of years.
You'd get letters from children who might not be born if you'd not be so kind. That would be such a priceless reword for you, that politics of millions of opinions, adult cruelty and discontent would seem a sad dream to remember.
Mission called "Prokhorov's people earn more than others and have more kids than average."
This could be just the start to impact the world without politics, should you wish so, of course.
I'll give you the next idea next.
Best regards.

From New York With Love (part 22)
Mr. Prokhorov,
There are conflicting reports that you might be repositioning yourself to get back to the party or start your own political party. Could you go to main national news channels and clear this up?
The saddest news for me was the ousting of you from the Presidential Committee on Modernization.
Now, how does that help you to help your country?
We have a famous therapist - Dr. Phil who's famous Q is; how does it working for you?
Could you bring more use to economy with your involvement in that area, rather than politics?
It's painful to see that you believed in something and it went awry, but in other hand I believe it was a blessing, besides that you lost money. You definitely can do much more without politics. You just have to meet and talk to new people who have different ideas and experiences about how the world evolves around us.
Maybe you should take on a musical instrument, keep yourself busy and happy. What about guitar? You should have strong hands and fingers from playing basketball, it should be no problem for you. I saw you playing it on one of the videos taken in France.
I tried guitar before, it hurt my fingers. I play piano. Try piano, or saxophone, blow your tensions away, get soft and romantic. Don't go back just to prove anything to anybody, please. It's irrelevant to your daily life. It's not worth the trouble, especially in the country where average male life expectancy is 60 years.
Wake up and smell the roses. Take a joy in small things in life, you have so many huge things, you have enough to worry about.
To prove that I really care, today, first time I opened You Tube account to address you and get your attention. Maybe, hopefully, that would have more exposure and someone finally in this whole wide world will tell you about my efforts.
I'll have concrete suggestions how to do much good under your immediate power and influence through your businesses and become an example of change from within for entire nation.
Best regards.

From New York With Love (part 21)
Mr. Prokhorov,
What a good news. It made my day today. Sorry that you're not happy at this moment, but I'm sure it will give away to a brighter days in your new career.
You say that you cherish your failures as much as your successes, right?
First step in politics and first stumbling. That's ok, you can handle it.
You gave the party $25 million for advertisement and public relations and they got rid of you. Or, you resigned, as you showed.
I've got both on the news. Couldn't conform which one happened first by the clock.
Make sure you put it out there for people to see. It's important in the matter of you staying in the party as a member, in case the steam cools off and you change your mind.
I hope you don't, but... who am I to tell you?
Best regards.

From New York With Love (part 20)
Hello Mr. Prokhorov,
Recent shift in your professional life truly surprised me.
Politics, ha? Interesting. My initial reaction was "c'est pas vrai!"
I couldn't believe at first, then I watched all interviews with you on different channels; 1tv.ru, ntv.ru, vesti.ru, RT.com, etc.
Why would you think that life is forever and you should start a new career after achieving so much in the current one, was my first Q, of course to myself.
Was it discontent, self-hate, self-destructive attitude toward good life that you could enjoy from this point on with no worries? Someone wanted viciously ruin it for you? Someone wanted to take over your businesses while you were away? No one told you that you could do absolutely enormous good, much more than in politics, to your fellow citizens and your country while enjoying your private life? That's the shocking part of all.
How you came across the idea of doing most difficult and dangerous, in my opinion almost self-defeating thing for getting most possibly minimal results?
Have you seen US Presidents turning gray after 4 years in office? Look at their photos before and after.
But...
After patiently listening to you in your interviews I felt you might just wanted to take a try, give it a shot, so called.
"Mais oui" I said to myself, you sounded enthusiastic and it looked like you believe in your cause.
One thing doesn't settle with my logic; how possibly you can leave your positions in companies you own and head? What do you mean you resigned? You don't go to your offices anymore? Walked away just like that? Gave out the deeds, the shares, the keys? To whom?
You weren't using computers or cell phones. You still don't?
In politics also you're going to let others to tell you who has a massage for you?
You don't even read your own blog? Why are you keeping it then? That's why it looks so horrible?
This is too far beyond my imagination. Oh, la, la!
People around you will decide what's considered "important" for you to know about and how much of it? That's why I can't get your attention forever? Even a courtesy email back for more than a year now? Even from people who work for you?
What about many many zeros involved in your businesses that can be so called "missed" from balance sheets, especially that you publicly said that you are not good in accounting?
And, don't your accountants know now that you're not a good in it, because you declared it on TV? Now what, you're going to be absent from the neighborhood where the papers with the numbers are? Wow!
I'll get back to this later and explain things about zeros.
Let's go back to politics and its direct effects.
Ones you complained on TV to Pozner that you think twice to go out, such as to movies, because of cameras fallowing.
Do you understand that becoming a politician not only you can't complain about violations of your privacy as a private citizen, but you're actually going to ask for public's attention constantly, continuously and extensively?
Do you like that? Do you like shaking hands endlessly? Do you like news writing about your illnesses, that God forbid one day you might get as a human like anyone else? What about gossip?
Spend your precious lifetime on the roads?
Can you tolerate hate, ridicule or maybe a danger on your face?
You praised yourself that you made good timing of your choices and succeeded; handling freight in student years, co-oping, banking, then incorporating. Nice and dandy.
Now politics. Fine.
It's your life and all I can do is hope that you can and will succeed in this one too. You say you're stress resilient, don't you?
On 1tv.ru you said that you consulted with people but can't name them, "dayte im spokoyno zhit" you said. In another one - NTV.ru you said you made the decision all by yourself.
What difference does it make, you might ask? I'll tell you; if you listen to others and do what they want, you won't be better than them.
They will just use your name, fame and money, and TIME of course, which is THE MOST expensive and precious commodity for human in this world and you won't recover any passing single day of your life with any wealth whatsoever.
But, it is what it is, and I should tell to myself "ah viola, bien sur, c'est la vie." This is in your "favorite" language, isn't it? :) Not mine either. Just trying to cheer up and keep this going. See if I can help you with this.
Why would I care? Because I care about you and Russia for 2 reasons; spiritual and secular-practical, and, being a little more around the world and surviving on basic level as a person who never had help from anyone, living in America for 20 years and for sure, knowing its politics better than you, I was thinking that you could help your country much better with your wast fortune and knowledge of capitalism if you use it in indirect but wise ways.
There are other avenues that you could have much more impact on Russian social, economic and political life by doing your thing in an honest, decent and patriotic ways and helping the ones in charge of governing, who know world of insiders better than you do.
When in one of my postings I offered you my opinion to stay out of it, I meant external politics - the foreign affairs. It's a very sensitive field. It's not a throwing a ball when you clearly see the basket.
On internal one, which directly affects your life as a citizen, you have all the rights to your voice and participation, I would reserve my opinion and only ask you
"in which ways and how much," because there is a problem; a fine line of possibly linking them together.
Inevitably you already started bringing examples of so called other established democracies such as USA and Europe. From your highest of heights by traveling and enjoying things the way you wish they might look and feel different than it feels for people like myself who live and make a living here and who are innocent, decent, moral, educated, modest and not connected. Sometimes it can feel like a constant straggle of survival full of unfairness, lies, frauds, illegality - you name it.
Instead of bringing theoretical examples with wishful thinking, you should practice your ideas here, see what you could change, then take the skills and knowledge back to Russia and build the better one there. Just the thought.
I'll go into it with more details later.
Do not get me wrong, please. I don't give any advice to anyone whatsoever.
I comment on your interviews and speeches and ask you Qs that you can answer for yourself in the privacy of your soul searching. I don't need answers from you for myself.
My opinions also can be read on my other blog to one of the most listened to talk show host in this country through my profile.
I'll continue to do this with heavy heart, but high hope that some miracle can give you the news of this blog, so my efforts of putting all this precious time of my prime life on this won't be in vain.
Best regards.
Recent shift in your professional life truly surprised me.

From New York With Love (part 19)
Hello Mr.Prokhorov,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
I wish you good health and happiness for the years to come.
Although I didn't hear anything back from you or your employees who might be in charge of telling you what's out there for you, but in any event I'm thinking to continue this blog.
At one point I thought maybe this is just a waste of time, but knowing that the simple contact and little conversation between us can change lots of things, create more wonderful things around the world and help out many people, I'll put my ego aside and do just what I have to do - try again and again.
I was talking to someone who's opinion I respect and told him maybe it's not meant to be, somethings in life meant not to happen, so I should move on.
He looked right into my eyes and said "I hate losers and quitters, are you one of them?" Well, I don't want to be called those names by someone of that caliber of intellect and wisdom, so I'll be posting further.
Until next time, I hope you're having good time with your family and friends.
Best regards,
A.K.
